Welcome to the Panther Valley Special Education Department

For the parents of incoming kindergarten students who received services through Early Intervention (EI):
If the Panther Valley School District did not have a chance to
officially assess your incoming kindergarten student prior to the school
closure that occurred on March 13, 2020, the special education
department will be issuing new "Permission to Re-Evaluate" forms once
school starts to seek permission to conduct these necessary assessments
to determine school age eligibility for special education services. The
teachers and related service providers (if applicable) will be working
to put provisional services into place at the start of the school year
based upon the IFSP that was developed in EI. These educators will be
in touch with parents to set up a time to discuss how the IFSP will be
implemented until a complete evaluation can be completed.
Once the evaluation is completed, an IEP will be developed if the
student is found eligible for special education services. A NOREP would
also be offered at that time to initiate official school age special
education services.
If you have any questions concerning your child's transition to
kindergarten, please do not hesitate to reach out to our special
education supervisor, Dr. Tammy M. Chrin, via email at chrint@panthervalley.org or by calling the Panther Valley Special Education Department at 570-645-0386.
We look forward to the upcoming school year as we welcome your child into kindergarten!
