Welcome to the Panther Valley School District and our website. We hope that our brand new website provides a wealth of information that serves as an introduction to the school district and some of the guiding principles behind public education to each of you.
The Panther Valley School District is a pleasant place for students to learn and grow. The district has a rich history and there is an immense amount of pride in our past, present and future. Our mission statement serves as public notice of the desires and goals. Our mission statement reads:
“Working together as a community to inspire each individual to achieve success through lifelong learning”
As we begin the 2016-2017 school term it is important to remember that we all work together to make the mission statement a reality. We also need to be cognizant of our past experiences. During the 2015-2016 school year we worked on a reconfiguration of our school district. Many key elements of our educational program have been modified in an effort to meet the needs of all of our students. Nothing great was ever accomplished in isolation. We succeed together and we fail together. We are intricately reliant on one another and bound together for our common mission; providing the best educational experience for all of our students.
Parents and educators need to be able to communicate effectively and work together. The process is important and this process can never be taken for granted. If you ever have questions it is wise to contact the teachers, principals and myself directly. We may not be able to reconnect with you immediately but we certainly will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
One of my favorite quotes comes from Larry Bell, “even on our worst day we are some child’s best hope”. Please understand that we are called to reach out and serve all of students regardless of the circumstances surrounding the children. We do not have the luxury of making excuses or taking the easy way out. We must strive for excellence and be champions and advocates for students.
Finally, being positive is a significant goal for all of us. From the very first day, our students should leave our class knowing that we think highly of them and are looking seeing them again. We need to make a conscious effort to praise and reinforce our students’ positive attributes.
