- Have your child arrive at the bus stop at least five minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
- All K&1 students require an adult at the bus stop in the afternoon. It is encouraged a parent or guardian be present with students in the AM and PM for students in Grades K-5.
- If you think you missed your child’s bus in the afternoon, stay at the bus stop, and they will come back to the stop.
- Review bus safety expectations with your child reguarly, including remaining seated, following the driver's instructions, and using an appropriate level of voice.
- Encourage students to stay a safe distance from the roadway while waiting for the bus and to wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before approaching.
- Remind students to look both ways and wait for the driver's signal before crossing in front of the bus.
- Keep emergency contact information up to date so the district and transportation provider can reach you if necessary.
- During inclement weather, please allow for possible delays due to road conditions and monitor district communications for transportation updates.
- Questions regarding bus routes, bus stop locations, pickup or drop off times, or transportation concerns should be directed to pvtransportation@panthervalley.org
Transportation
Transportation
To meet the transportation needs of our community, the district partners with Kistler Transportation, a trusted provider responsible for the daily transportation of students to and from school, athletic events, field trips, and other school sponsored activities. Transportation is a joint effort between Kistler Transportation and Ms. Rachael Albert, our transportation clerk.
The Panther Valley School District Transportation Clerk serves as the district's primary liaison between families, schools, and Kistler Transportation. While Kistler Transportation manages daily bus operations, routes, drivers, and scheduling, the Transportation Clerk assists with student transportation records and district related transportation matters.
Families should contact the Transportation Clerk to report changes in bus stops, discuss transportation related concerns that require district assistance, or address questions regarding transportation eligibility, custody arrangements, homeless transportation, or transportation accommodations. The Transportation Clerk also works closely with school administrators and Kistler Transportation to ensure student transportation information is accurate and up to date.
Families should contact Kistler Transportation directly for questions regarding bus routes, pickup and drop off times, bus stop locations, bus delays, missed stops, driver concerns, or other day to day transportation operations.
By working together, the Transportation Clerk and Kistler Transportation help ensure that students travel safely and efficiently to and from school each day.
