United Way Community School

Panther Valley School District is proud to be a United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley Community School, a model that recognizes student success is strengthened when schools, families, and community partners work together. As a Community School, we are committed to addressing the academic, social, emotional, health, and basic needs of students by connecting families with resources that remove barriers to learning and create opportunities for every child to thrive.
Through our partnership with United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and a network of local organizations, Panther Valley provides access to a wide range of supports and enrichment opportunities, including family engagement programs, after school clubs, behavioral health services, food assistance, volunteer initiatives, literacy programs, and partnerships with healthcare providers and community agencies. These collaborative efforts extend learning beyond the classroom while strengthening the connection between our schools and the communities we serve.
The Community School strategy is built upon the belief that schools are more than places for academic instruction. They are centers of opportunity that bring together educators, families, businesses, nonprofits, and community members to support the whole child. Guided by our commitment that Every Panther is Connected, Panther Valley continues to expand partnerships and innovative programs that help students succeed in school and in life while building a stronger, healthier, and more connected community.

The Community School Coordinator is responsible for identifying the needs of students and families, coordinating school and community partnerships, organizing family engagement events, expanding after school programming, managing volunteer initiatives, and connecting families with available resources and services. The Coordinator also facilitates collaborative leadership teams, oversees community based projects, supports grant initiatives, and works with partners to develop sustainable programs that address academic, social, emotional, and basic needs.
Families are encouraged to contact the Community School Coordinator for assistance with accessing community resources, food assistance, family engagement opportunities, volunteer programs, after school activities, health and wellness partnerships, and other services available through the Community School initiative.
