Virtual Counseling Available Now to Prepare for the Upcoming School Year

Posted Date: 08/05/26 (10:58 AM)

Panther Valley families, as we get ready for a new school year, we know that going back to school can be exciting. But it can also be hard for some students and families.

If your child had a big life change over the summer, is worried about going back to school, or you have seen important changes in their mood or behavior, now is a good time to get help.

Through our work with Cartwheel, Panther Valley School District families can use online mental health services. These services are made to help students do well in school and in life.

A mother and daughter are in a tense interaction on a couch, with the mother holding a tablet.

A woman and a young girl sit on a couch, with the woman holding a tablet and looking at the girl.
Cartwheel offers:
- Individual virtual therapy for students who qualify (Grades 3+)
- Parent Guidance sessions with helpful tips to support your child for all grade levels
- Easy appointments after school and in the evening

They accept most insurance plans, including Medicaid. This helps many families get the services they need.

This year, Cartwheel is offering new, wider care programs. These programs focus on common problems students and families face:
- Trouble going to school or attending school
- Problems with screens, social media, and stress from digital devices
- Big behaviors and big feelings for students with strong emotions or behavior challenges

Getting help early can make a big difference. It helps students feel sure of themselves, connected, and ready to learn at the start of the school year.

Based on the most recent data, Panther Valley students have had 1,037 clinical sessions. 93.2% of students report that the therapy sessions have been helpful.
